Computer Systems Group
Three research labs that study how computer systems are built: the hardware, the networks that connect it, the parallel software that runs on it, and the assurance that it all behaves as intended.
The group is the Computer Systems research area of the Department of Computer Engineering at Izmir Institute of Technology (IZTECH). Each lab has its own director, students and projects.

What makes three labs one group.
We design and implement hardware components and software systems with their performance, energy use, reliability, availability, safety and security in view. The labs approach these requirements from different layers of the system, and their topics meet in several places.
- Dependability Systems that keep working correctly when parts fail or inputs are hostile.TADS: verification and runtime assurance. PARS: reliability analysis of parallel systems. SyNeRC: timing analysis and memory safety.
- Embedded and edge systems Computing close to sensors, vehicles and industrial equipment.TADS: embedded and industrial AI. SyNeRC: embedded, real-time and FPGA-based systems.
- GPU and heterogeneous computing Getting predictable performance from machines that mix processor types.PARS: multicore and GPU architectures, programming models. SyNeRC: scheduling and accelerators on heterogeneous platforms.
