We are delighted to announce the appointment of Assoc. Prof. Tolga Ayav as the new chair of our department. The new chair will work with assistant professors Işıl Öz and Nesli Erdoğmuş as vice-chairs. We congratulate the new administration and wish them all the best in their duties.
Assoc. Prof. Murat Erten handed the position over after 3 years of dedicated service, helping to implement department goals while improving the standards of our faculty members and students. We also would like to take this opportunity to thank him.
Shortly after he joined the department in 2016, Assoc. Prof. Murat Erten assumed responsibilities as the head of the department and got to work. His many contributions include, but not limited to the following: In the early months in his position, he helped hosting the GBYF 2017 Project Exhibition and Competition in the Innovation Center of Teknoparkİzmir. He led the way for the new technical elective course in Information Technology Entrepreneurship to render the students eligible to receive the KOSGEB Applied Entrepreneurship Training Certificate. During his term, IZTECH CENG Career Day was initiated and organized the first time and a new and extra large classroom was incorporated into the department’s facilities. For all those and many others, we are sincerely thankful.
