Prof. Dr. Sıtkı Aytaç, the former Head of IZTECH Computer Engineering Department attended the “25. Anniversary of Internet in Turkey” event in Middle East Technical University as a panelist. The event was held on April 14, 2018, 25 years after the first internet connection in Turkey was established in April 13, 1993.
In addition to the panels to “commemorate yesterday”, ” discuss today” and “imagine tomorrow” of internet, the documentary “From tape to internet – 64 KB” prepared by METU-GIMSA was featured. Furthermore, an exhibition of historical newspaper clippings, posters and pictures that documents the progress of the internet in Turkey was presented.
