Prof. Dr. Mahdi Hashemzadeh received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Software Engineering from Qazvin Azad University, in 2002 and 2006, respectively, and earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Technology from Zhejiang University, China, in 2013. From 2009 to 2013, he was a member of the CCNT Biometrics Laboratory at Zhejiang University. Between 2013 and 2024, Prof. Hashemzadeh served as a tenured faculty member at the Faculty of Information Technology and Computer Engineering, Azarbaijan Shahid Madani University, Iran, where he held the rank of Full Professor. He also founded and directed the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Research Laboratory at the same university. Prof. Hashemzadeh has received numerous International, national and institutional awards in recognition of his excellence in teaching and research. Notably,
- In 2025, he was recognized among the world’s top 2% of scientists (2024) according to the Stanford University–Elsevier global report.
- In 2024, he was honored with the Country’s Distinguished Professor and Teaching Award, selected among all faculty members across all Iranian universities.
He has also received multiple University and Faculty Excellence Awards from Azarbaijan Shahid Madani University for outstanding achievements in teaching and research over several years (2016, 2019, 2022, 2024, and 2025).
